Time passes too soon. I still remember seeing facebook posts about waking people up when September ends but now even October has ended.
In the past month, I have changed my phone (I am officially a smart phone user). I have become more adapted to my life in Hong Kong. And I feel optimistic.
I really wanna write more but blogging with Iphone is not easy. So I shall leave it till when I get back to laptop!

Another Beautiful Sunday
After a long long time, finally I get to witness a beautiful Sunday morning again. There is less haze and the sky is clearer. This is not a typical view in Hong Kong because as many people know, Hong Kong has one of the most serious air pollution issues. Seeing a nice view, especially from my room, really lifted my mood! Unfortunately I still don't have my phone to take a nice picture, else I would have done so and uploaded for you to see, the beautiful view. And I am too lazy to take my camera to take this beautiful picture, connect to my laptop, transfer photo and upload it for you; it's just too troublesome of a process for me! :P But rest assured, once I get my phone, I will make FULL use of it!
University life is getting better! It's the mid term period. So naturally I should be studying my ass off. I am. I hit the library quite often. And I really am resisting the urge to go jogging / swimming every time. I have set a new schedule: to study in the morning and in the afternoon, while at night, I want to enjoy my time by reading news, going jogging, swimming or chatting with friends. This is my new schedule which I shall put into use once mid term ends (next Thursday)! For now, I will have to really focus on studying! Especially when I have 3 more tests to sit for (Finished the test for Introduction to Economic yesterday, yay)!
Wait, I just said university life is getting better and I talked about mid term, how ironic!
It's getting better because I have set a new schedule which I intend to stick by strictly. I also recently talked to a friend (a junior, really) and I realized that different people have different goals and different aims they wish to obtain from their university lives. Naturally, some may be better and more challenging than others; and in the end, they will reap more rewards of course. But those kind of goals not necessarily suit everyone. So the important thing to do is, to search for your own university aim/goal and stick by it at all times! Don't always follow what your friends do because your friends' interests aren't necessarily yours. So don't waste your university life, do what you want and like!
Since then, I have been thinking what my aims and goals are. I have to admit, mine aren't as noble as everyone else's. I just want to graduate peacefully, get a good grade, get invaluable experience, and enjoy my life. Oh, and definitely, follow my interests (though I really have yet to decide what mine really are). That's why I feel less pressured when I see my peers are working so diligently towards their goal (which used to make me feel left out etc). I know better now. So I feel better.
I think most importantly, I have to keep improving myself. And enjoy life.
Cheers.

University life is fun?
One thing is for sure. The person who said that university life is leisure and fun should be killed right now.
University life is not at all leisurely! I am at the end of the fourth week of my studies, and I feel suffocated already! I am so behind my syllabus for economics; mathematics which used to be my strong point is no longer my strong point; learning a new language should be fun but it's not when I have other pressure and tension to take care of; all my worries and dilemmas won't be eased away when the people around me seem to be having the time of their life.
I guess there is no fun time for me. Not so much anyway. And I definitely do not like the feeling of not knowing what I am learning. I used to be so in control of my studies and my knowledge. But now, due to lack of resources (no textbook!), new lecture style (university style!), and external factors, I guess I really am falling behind.
And, I shall not let myself fall anymore!
Must fucking buck up!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival!
First Mid Autumn Festival in Hong Kong. Basically I still have a mixed feeling. I have not completely been emotionally detached from my family, I suppose. On such a meaningful and important event, I especially miss my parents and my brothers and the familiar place I was once so used to. More so when I faced a number of obstacles here in Hong Kong, where I would have to stand up for myself (sometimes with help from my friends). Everything is really different, more so for me.
I bought a Canon printer last Friday. I tried to set it up yesterday, but apparently there is an error to the printer and it left me frustrated. I have to bring it all the way back to the shop today to get it fixed.
I went to a Malaysian gathering slash Mid Autumn Festival Celebration last night. I thought I would thoroughly enjoy it, but quite to the contrary. It was still nice though. There were many, many great seniors!
And in the midst of all the chaos in my mind, there is this loudly deafening feeling which has never left my mind since the very beginning, loneliness.
I think I just miss my parents, my brothers and my friends too much, to the extent of not being able to let it go, yet.
I know what I should do. I should stay optimistic, have an open mind, embrace all the possibilities with a bright smile and stay confident.
But, is it really easy to do that? Is it easy to switch my mindset, which is so used to and fixed to my bygones, to accustom to what's around me now?

Super Random
I just thought of something funny, yet potentially offensive. People normally post this in Twitter or Weibo. I have neither. I do have Facebook but I think people on Facebook take the statuses too seriously so I shall post at a less crowded place - here.
In light of the new Section 114A of Evidence Act, which I am just reading, I just realized that if an anonymous hacks one of our famous politician's Facebook account and posts something like..."I like guys and my wife is too fat to realize it", I wonder if that original account holder has to bear full responsibility over that post, meaning that post truly represents what he is. Is that how this amendment work? I am still not too good with the laws so correct me if I am wrong, please.
Otherwise, I find this extremely amusing in many potential ways.
PS: Of course, I find it devastating as well for such an amendment to be passed! What a tragedy to all Malaysians! I just managed to find a funny loophole to backfire the people who passed it in the first place.

Current Flow of Thoughts
It has been taking me a while, but I am beginning to come around to the idea of going to Hong Kong. I mean, I said I would after the previous post about the post-mortem. But I haven't been myself lately and I suppose that was the cause. Point is, I think I am getting the hang of everything that is going on now.
It began when an appropriate question was asked by the right friend. "How do I feel right now?" And, I immediately took a step back and recollected my thoughts. And I answered her. Briefly. But, accurately. And I felt like I let the air out of the window, finally. (Somehow, this phrase is analogous to farting) And I felt, liberated!
And today, I finally feel like my mood is at the right place. And I feel happy and hopeful.
But god darn it, it took me so long to accept and feel good. I guess I am that emotional.

DRTMS - Post Mortem
After writing this blog post, I reckon I should let go and move on. So this shall be the final dedication to the highly coveted wish of mine.
The bottom line is, I am not going to London.
Why is that sad? I have been preparing myself for weeks for London. I started listening to British songs. I started watching British dramas. (Downton Abbey is actually a very exciting drama, with its British accent and unusual phrasing and choice of words) I began picturing how my life would unfold in the city of London. I tried to get a feeling of how walking at the streets of London would feel like, how the coldness in London would feel like, how the citizen of London would treat foreign students. Everything was beginning to feel possible. I was 70% prepared for it.
Why was I so confident? Many things that have happened had let me to believing that I really stood a chance for this scholarship, actually. Mainly, the interview went very well. The interviewing panel was very interested and pleased with what I had to say. I felt good with what I said, most importantly. And I can't deny that all the follow-up emails that I had with the sponsoring foundation hinted to me that I definitely stood a chance.
But still, why am I so upset? Well basically the email which I received from the sponsoring foundation states that the reason I am not qualified/chosen is that I am not financially-needy enough. It is stated that my academic and non-academic achievements are actually very good, in fact they're one of the best that they're ever seen so far (their words), but I guess there must be another candidate who is more deserving of this scholarship than I am. And deserving, it may refer to his/her financial requirements, rather than other aspects of achievement (my words). This reason seems very ironic to me because the main reason I am applying for this scholarship is the lack of finances that I have to study in London. But that is the very reason why I am turned down. That's the general idea that I picked up from the email they sent me anyway.
So what should I do? If I do not receive a follow-up email on Monday, I will prepare for Hong Kong University. There are plenty to prepare for and there is definitely a long list of things to buy. And I will focus on that.
Any final thoughts? I will always remember that London is a place which I once badly wanted to go to. The picture (and the experience) of having an education in the city of London is very rewarding. In fact, too rewarding that it seems slightly difficult to let the idea go. It is because it truly and firmly marks the end of one of my dreams. That idea has been implanted in my mind for a few weeks, so definitely it is slightly difficult to forgo this dream. But I shall and I will.
If you have read this post up to this point, I thank you. And I wish all is going well in the pursue of your own chances in a tertiary education. I really do. And may all of us embark in a valuable and unforgettable journey when our degree commences.

Datuk Roger Tan Memorial Scholarship
Datuk Roger Tan Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship specially set up to financially assist prospective or current Malaysian students studying in London School of Economics (LSE). I believe this scholarship is only recently set up in Malaysia. It offers very lucrative scholarship amount and benefits so it naturally attracts many LSE students.
Unfortunately I was not chosen for the scholarship. The reason that I got from the email which I received is that I am not sufficiently financial-deprived. Therefore I am not deemed suitable for the scholarship. I have the academic and non-academic credentials. I have everything else that they may be looking for. I am just not poor enough. Kinda ironic?
Nevertheless, I wish the chosen scholar (though slim chance that you will be reading this) all the best in LSE! You will be living my dream, to be able to study in an English environment! Enjoy yourself and make the big bucks in London!

May you Rest in Peace
This is still not acceptable.
I know we weren't close. It may not be my place to say these things.
But.
I believe you were an amazing friend. A friend with an amazingly positive attitude. A girl with her own opinions. A girl with a strong will and determination.
You were robbed from your future. This is all so sudden. You are no longer here. This is just too sudden.
I just cannot accept this. I cannot understand how this could have happened. I even tried to picture the scenario. How on earth could this have happened?! This is so unfair! You could have had a bright future! But not anymore! How could this have happened?!
I still cannot accept. This is just devastating.
I can only say

Island Trip to Perhentian Island
All thanks to the wonderful Joy and Kee Onn that this trip is finally a success!
Much can be seen and understood from the photos and albums posted on Kee Onn, Moi and Ivan's profiles on Facebook. So there is basically nothing much to elaborate on.
What I am glad to say is, this trip is a very relaxing one. I had the precious chance to enjoy the scenery of the beautiful beach with the almost-crystal clear seawater and soft sandy beach while lying lazily on the hammock. I had an even more precious chance to just talk with my friends and really spent time with them. This may even be the very last time to meet some of them, so I am really appreciative.
The journey to Besut jetty was kind of exciting. It was my second time boarding a night bus. The bus was travelling rather speedily but it was still safe. What was exciting to me was that the only thing I could see from the window were pitch black scenes. It gave me an even stronger sense of mystery and creepiness. As if I could be travelling on an extremely narrow single lane kampungish road or on a wooden bridge! (No idea why I would think of this, it just sounds creepy that's all)
Oh, and speed boat can prove to be quite a bumpy (and uncomfortable) ride. Yet challenging.
Perhentian Island, to date, may be one of the most well preserved island. This is apparently true as seconded by a frequent traveler we met at the chalet. Though, 5 years ago, the sea was livelier than it is now. The sea is really clear; we could even snorkel in front of our chalet! Kee Onn took some pretty pictures of some random fish (I call them random because I have no idea what they're called) and some clown fish! Some of the fish were rather territorial, as quoted from Moi. They even charged at us at full speed and bit us when they saw us, instead of swimming away cowardly like what the normal fish at other islands do. Their fierceness sort of scared me a little.
Weirdly, snorkeling was scheduled on our second day. It was fun! We got to see turtles and sharks! Though I didn't get to see the sharks; I was somehow led to another side of the sea. But some very impressive pictures were taken, so I don't exactly feel left out. The trip could feel a lot better though if it didn't give me such massive headache / dizziness. Maybe I didn't get used to the boat or the snorkeling feel. Heck, I will probably enjoy it more thoroughly the next time.
On our second night on the island, we joined Kee Onn for his stargazing activity. This was really a pleasant and surprising experience for me! This is because I never really had much interest for astronomy but under his guidance, I managed to locate Scorpius, a teapot, a cross and the Milky Way. And some other stuff too, of course. And for once, I truly truly knew how to appreciate the beauty that the night has to offer. Really, all thanks to Kee Onn!
The food on the chalet was not bad. Oh, we stayed in Fauna Beach Chalet. The food was actually included in the package. It was a buffet style, with BBQ food on our second night. It was quite lovely. And we definitely appreciated the bottomless food and drinks (and fruits).
Overall, I think this trip is quite a success! Initially I would really prefer a much better furnished accommodation rather than a chalet. But later on, I realized that I was okay with a run-down, wooden chalet so I guess I can adapt to anything. I really hope to be able to go to other island or beach like Lang Tengah or Krabi or Phuket or Bangkok (probably in my dreams) but now I don't know if I have the time in August. I shall see.
Lastly, I would like to thank Moi, Jordan, Ivan, Kee Onn, Joy, Yeang Ching, Hancock and Shen Wen for making this trip a truly memorable one!

Letting Go of Your Bananas - Dr Daniel T. Drubin
An interesting self-help book introduced by a colleague.
The author uses bananas as a metaphor to all the bad habits and bad characteristics that everyone has. He calls it rotten bananas. The author thinks that to strive for a better life, or a better Quality of Life as he puts it, everyone should be get rid of all the rotten bananas.
However it is not as easily done as it is said. All these rotten bananas are normally things that we are very comfortable in / with. In fact, we are too comfortable with all these rotten bananas that we don't feel the motivation or the drive to change. Hence, we stick to our rotten bananas, and our Quality of Life never improves.
So it is extremely important to always put ourselves in the limelight of scrutiny and judgement, and constantly rid ourselves of the rotten bananas that have been with us prior to this day.
This book actually has some rather substantial content. It is not a bad book. But, I rather dislike the method with which the author penned this book. The author was beating around the bush too much whenever he wanted to get to a point. He could just get straight to it, yet he used various verbs (of the same meaning) and adjectives (of the same meaning) to express what he wanted to. That annoyed me a lot and disrupted my flow of reading. Hence I found it slightly difficult to finish the book. In the end, I sort of skimmed through the last few pages.
If you come across this book, you could give it a try. Like I said, the content is good. But the penmanship is not my favourite.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - THE BOOK!
I just finished the book. It took me two days to finish it. Technically, it's less than one day because I started reading it at roughly 9pm last night and I just finished it. Come to think of it, I finished it quite fast compared to other self-help books I have been reading.
This is such a sad book I think. Throughout my reading the book, I just can't help but feeling sad. Life is not always a bed of roses. Not everyone's life is perfect. But even when your life sucks to the point of giving up on it, you should still keep moving on with a firm faith in a better tomorrow. That is sorta what I learned from this book.
Of course, I know that drugs and smoking are not good. I will never attempt at any of those and this book contains tonnes of them! And this book also contains many controversial social predicaments that many people would disapprove with. But I just think of them as..social occurrences that happen by nature. So sometimes, you accept things as they are.
Well if you are reading this post, you will probably not understand what I am talking about, unless if you have read the book. Come to think of it, even if you have read the book, I can't guarantee if you would appreciate it as much as I do because, for me, I could relate to the author and the main character, hence I find it meaningful. The thoughts that Charlie always came up with at the most random times, I did and do think of them. Charlie always thought of wishing other people's life well and hoping that everyone is having a happy life. I do that too. But that does not make Charlie or me a kind person or a popular person. That just makes us not participating in things. Because we think, instead of participating. What Sam said is true. You have to participate. Be yourself. Put yourself in those situations. Let people know how you feel. That's when you stop being a wallflower.
Anyway, I don't know if I would give the book a second reading because I generally don't repeat my books. But maybe when I have finished all my self-help, I would give it another go?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
A movie I can't wait to watch! Click this trailer link to see what it's about! Or just watch it below.
I forgot how I got to know about this movie. But I am interested in it because of EMMA WATSON! She is starring in it! And in the trailer, she is so really attractive, to the point of seductive! Based on that one reason, it's already a must-watch! Secondly, I like the plot. I find myself able to relate to the plot, though I have not read the book. And I plan to.
SEPTEMBER SEEMS SO FAR AWAY RIGHT NOW!
"Come on, let's go be psychos together!"

Restaurant Shabu Shabu at Bandar Puteri, Puchong
I just came back from Father's Day dinner at Restaurant Shabu Shabu at Bandar Puteri Puchong! It's a japanese buffet style shabu shabu, where all the food is displayed on a conveyor belt for our convenience. We can choose which food to take from a very wide variety of choice! The restaurant offers chicken meat, prawns, fish, squid, fish ball, other types of balls, various vegetable, various tau fu, chicken's organs, eggs, small eggs, yee mee, mee hun and more. They also have pork (upon request) and beef! They also have free flow of drinks (orange juices, mixed juices, sky juice and green tea) but my favourite is THEIR ICE CREAM! Who doesn't like ice cream, right? They have mint flavored, chocolate, corn, coffee / cappuccino, vanilla with chocolate chip and my favourite, YAM! If my mother didn't prohibit me, I would have refilled my ice cream countless times despite my excruciatingly satiated stomach. Come on, the ice cream is free!
Well, not technically free. We paid RM30 per pax for all this. But I think the price is worthy of the food, so I don't mind!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves really. But I didn't take any picture because I practically forgot about taking any picture as soon as I saw all the food rotating on the belt! And also because all the pictures were taken with my bro's girlfriend so I don't need to take any pictures any longer (and I can just enjoy my food!) I highly recommend this place to anyone! I would sound more convincing if I had any pictures but for more proofs, you can just google this place! Shabu shabu at Puchong! It's near Giant and it's at the same row as CitiBank. Go try!

Daily Rant
I think my blog has become the virtual place which I turn to when Facebook fails to erase my boredom. Or when I am otherwise bored, especially at work. My job currently is to design, which really isn't my strength. I am trying to figure out which software to use to design a decent poster, and the software has to be user-friendly enough for a newbie like me to use! I am trying to figure out how to use GIMP right now, and also exploring whether it can be used to design good graphics. If it fails, I think I can only rely on Microsoft Office, which I think is hopeless if I want to design something more canggih! Someone help me!
I read an interesting piece of news just now. Interesting to me anyway. As many people know, Andy Lau has married a Malaysian lady and they now have a baby girl. The news stated that Andy will allocate RM4mil for his daughter's education fund. Which, I think is roughly 800,000 pounds sterling? This news attracted my attention because the exceptionally big amount of money got me into thinking how I could have utilized it. Which is really intriguing, depending on the various ways you want to spend that money! For example, with RM4mil, you can just shake your legs at home while earning the bank interest! But it's just a dream. Heh.

What's on the news
Though this news may not have made it to the headline but I find it very disturbing, especially when it involves the education field. I am referring to the recent freezing of PTPTN loan for UNISEL students. Apparently, the move was just a test to see if what Pakatan Rakyat claimed can be carried out. I shall not focus on PR's claim. What I cannot stand is the higher education minister, Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin's reason on the loan freeze, "It was to see what the state government would do to help the new students without the means of a PTPTN loan, that's why we froze it temporarily." But the money isn't yours to begin with! And, we're talking about education here! This is not a toy or some lego pieces you can test to see if your toy construction was stable. This is people's education and future we are talking about. Your action is absolutely childish!
Moving on to another issue. I absolutely cannot withhold my dissatisfaction towards a statement made by another minister. It probably is due to my personal circumstance or my personal emotion, but I still find what he said rather offensive. On the news regarding the bidding of WWW car plates, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz has successfully bid WWW 97. He said, “I have a lot of money, how to spend the money? As a minister, RM10,000 is not much; it’s not RM400,000 or RM100,000, that will be too much.”
"RM10,000 is not much."
"RM10,000 is not much."
I understand that it is probably my own personal bias feeling. I understand that that is how rich people use their money. I understand that I will not understand their mentality.
But in my situation right now, I just cannot fathom what he said and I feel very dissatisfied with that statement.

Finally, end of travelling!
Back in KL, again!
Because of what my company does, I was required in a graduation ceremony in Batu Pahat yesterday afternoon, where I acted as the emcee of the event. So my colleagues and I went south on Friday morning to prepare for the big day!
It was my first time to Batu Pahat and I was slightly excited because I didn't know how developed (or undeveloped) Batu Pahat is. It was a rather long drive from KL to BP. Probably due to numerous stops at the rest area. But the journey definitely seems longer when I was the driver and I couldn't travel at high speed because the car was extremely fully loaded.
Something which I deem worthy of mentioning about Batu Pahat is one of the hotels, Hotel Katerina. I hadn't realized before but my colleagues told me that Hotel Katerina is the hotel where the infamous misconduct between our MCA leader and one lady occurred. I even know the room number! I found this fact rather amusing actually, because our ceremony was initially planned to be held in that hotel. It was like reenacting the infamous action. I might even be able to take a peek of the room and see how it was like.
Of course, Batu Pahat is more than just that. I think I can say that it is a rather well developed town. My company's centre is situated near a Carrefour and a residential area. Surrounding Carrefour are rolls of shops which are fully occupied. It is a rather busy area, I should say.
I was hoping to try some local cuisine but I didn't really get the chance. However I did notice that the noodles in Batu Pahat is rather hard, which could prove difficult for digestion. I had similar noodles in different stalls and restaurants and it was all rather chewy.
Interestingly, I found a very good bakery shop! Initially I wanted to celebrate my colleague's birthday so another colleagues who based in BP brought us to buy a cake. In the shop, I saw another woman buying one of the pastry on sale. It was like a muffin or a bun. That woman bought TWENTY of it! She said it is THAT nice! So I trusted her and bought 3, one each for my colleagues. I had it on the next day and IT REALLY WAS DAMN GOOD! However I didn't get the name of the pastry, or the shop that I went to. I only know the direction. Guess I could only get it if I ever travel to BP again.
Basically there is nothing much to talk about for this trip. Except that, being an emcee would have been more fun if the ceremony was conducted in English!
I am now super tired. But tomorrow is Monday, another working day. I am dead meat.

A Token of Something
I have been thinking about this for the past couple of days.
My blog is not a very famous blog. I do not have many readers, just a couple. I normally post about incidents related more to my life and my thoughts. I don't do politics. I don't do world economies. I don't do social well-being. I really focus on me.
This is going to change. I want this to change because I want what I post, what I write, to be something my readers can relate to. I want the people who read my blog to gain something, be it big or small, from the posts I posted.
I do not have a good writing skill. It's just very, very average. So bear with me. And I think I will only be able to focus more on many aspects of the philosophies of life. So at least I know there is a path for my poor blog.
Also, I want to thank all of you who read my posts, may they be random or spiteful or hyper. I hope they at the very least entertained you for a little bit.

Dear Fatima Nasri.
This post is dedicated to you.
In Sayfol, you met your best friend, Ranya. After graduation, she left for Canada to continue her studies. In MCKL, you met another best friend. And now, you're leaving him for Germany.
And, it's not exactly an easy thing for him to accept.
The idea of your leaving to Germany is rather surreal. Probably because you're leaving too soon, at a time when it wasn't time for any intake at all. (Well, people normally begin their classes in September) And, many people haven't even left yet. You're one of the first ones, and I am still not used to my friends leaving me. Especially one who has made an impact. And, I almost don't even know where Germany is! It's like your departure is a lie, a fairy tale, a hoax, anything but a reality.
Albeit all, I have to accept that you are leaving tonight. And I don't even know when is your flight.
The memory of the early days of our friendship is all a haze to me. I will probably need your help to remind me because you are always the one with a sharp memory for things like this. I don't remember how it began, the only thing I remember is, we got along very well, very fast. It made me felt grounded, like there is a chance for a real relationship even at a new, strange place.
We were so different. You weren't even a Malaysian. Yet, we clicked. We had an understanding that was actually frightening, now that I recall. We would stumble upon a certain weird, awkward or funny situation, give each other a look and laugh like there was no tomorrow. We talked so much when we were in college, mainly due to the fact that all our classes were the same. Well I didn't talk much I think. You did most of the talking. :P But I enjoyed it nevertheless. I enjoyed listening to your rants about your life because, to be honest, weird things always happened to you and the stories about your life was always, always so funny! (This is a compliment!)
We did so many things together! We spent so much time together! I didn't even realize that we did, until rumors started spreading. Was that awkward? I don't exactly remember.
Well, among the things we did? Student Council. Sports Carnival. Birthday celebrations. Festivals in college. Our first Midsummer Masquerade! That was a whole lot of fun! With the make-up and nail polish. You seemed so cool at that time by the way. Because I hadn't known you well then. Which means after I knew you better, you were no longer cool. :P What else did we do together? Library time? Exams? Pre-exams? Post-exams? Monorail? Times Square? Did we watch movies? OH! March intake orientation camp! Remember when we were supposed to wake up in the middle of the night for the midnight game? I remember forcing you to wake up and you were trying to hit me by randomly swaying your hand at me from your sleeping bag. It was such a futile attempt, I would really have laughed out loud if I weren't so overwhelmed by my sleepiness. And that time, I was respecting you much that I tried so hard not to look at you because, well, your hair was undone. We had so much fun time, with everyone else! And also the bad times. Being late for classes. Getting reprimanded for no good reason. Conflicts. Misunderstandings. Homework problems. (LOL) How you hated some people picking fun at you. So many more.
Well the thing is, you are one of a kind. And even though after exams, we had hardly met up, it didn't mean that I never thought of you. You're not a friend easy enough to forget, y'know? So when you're gone, to Germany, it will not be the same. Your absence, from Malaysia, is different from your absence, caused by lack of meeting up. Your flying to Germany is making an impact. I have no way of putting what I feel into words, but all I know is, I am feeling emotional, and slightly sad, about your departure. Also at your refusal to tell me the time of your flight. And your refusal to let people send you off at KLIA.
But on top of those, I will miss you. Dearly. Because I have no idea when will we ever meet again. I will miss you. Because I am (sometimes) working for your mother and that will definitely make me think of you. And she has told me things you don't know, which makes it all the more emotional for me. But again, on top of it all, I wish you well, my friend. All the best!

Free Shuttle Bus Service provided by MidValley
After the talk in UTAR this morning, I had to take the public bus back to KL. I was supposed to go to either Asia Jaya LRT station or Universiti. A bus came just when I was about to reach the bus stop (and it was a long and hot walk from all the way from UTAR to Jaya One) and it was directed to Universiti LRT station. I was happy!
THEN, I missed my stop!
The bus was turning from Jalan Universiti back to the Federal Highway. It went up to the flyover which had a right turning to the Universiti LRT Station. There was a traffic light. It was red and the bus stopped. So some passengers went down. I thought the bus would turn right, which would lead me to directly the front of the LRT station. Little did I know that the bus route does not include the right turning! The bus when straight! After asking some passengers, I understood that the next station was MidValley and I should have gone down at the traffic light!
*sigh*
So I stopped at MidValley. Two very, very nice aunties and one young man told me about shuttle bus service at the South Court of MidValley, which would lead me directly to Bangsar LRT Station. So I headed there.
And guess what was the surprise?
The shuttle bus service is free! It is paid by MidValley! HOW COOL IS THAT?! I was so pleasantly surprised when I found out about this service (after asking another aunty)!
So now if I have no car to drive, at least I know there is such a convenient way to reach MidValley, rather than relying on KTM or buses. The only down side to it is, the bus arrives allegedly once every 30 minutes, depending on the traffic condition. But I guess that is still bearable. It's a free service anyway.
I am still pleasantly surprised! It's so kind of MidValley!

W Mitchell : It's not what happens to you; it's what you do about it.
I have heard of this name a couple of weeks back. Then earlier this week, my colleague recommended this special talk to me. It's an inspirational talk by a speaker called W Mitchell. It was at UTAR PJ. And it's free. So I signed up for it. The title is stated above.
It a less than two hours talk. Before the emcee invited Mitchell to the stage, a lady infected with Polio first graced the stage with her inspirational advice to the audience. Her name is Catharine Lim. I was slightly irritated because she was not what I signed up for, and she was eating the time dedicated for Mitchell. But she had her fair share of experience to share; experience which is valuable for some people.
She emphasized on the importance of staying true to oneself and accepting one's own uniqueness because "there is no other Chloe," as quoted from what she said earlier this morning. Everyone should give thanks to whatever he / she believes in every morning for being able to wake up and make it through another day with good health, she advised. She also stressed on the importance of having a passion, a goal in life. And, drive that passion. Drive your passion. There is no meaning to life if there is no passion, hence she stressed the importance of having a passion and realizing it.
After roughly 20 minutes, she handed the stage over to Mitchell, who was welcomed warmly by the audience with a loud applause.
W Mitchell was a cable car gripman in San Francisco. When he was riding his motorcycle one fine day, he was hit by a truck and his body was lit on fire. He was 65% burnt. He lost part of each ten of his fingers. After a long and grueling process of recovery, he continued his life with determination. He completed his training as a pilot and he especially appreciates his first solo flight. However, it was during one of his flights when the second accident happened. His aircraft crashed on takeoff due to ice on the wing of the aircraft. An investigation showed that it was Mitchell's mistake that the accident occurred. He sustained a spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed waist down, sentencing him to a life on a wheelchair.
It is very unfortunate for so many bad things happening to one person. If it were me, I might end up blaming the whole world! Why me?! Why must this happen to me?! But this was not the case for Mitchell. Of course, he had his fair share of grieving period and his low times. But he decided to take control of his own life. He did not want to let all these accidents define who he was. He decided to take control of his life, to take control of what the accidents have made him into. It's a choice, his choice, to react to these incidents. And that is precisely the message that he was giving us this morning.
It's not what happens to you, it's what you do about it.
Isn't that true? A kid accidentally spills his coke on your shirt. What would naturally be your first reaction? Angry? You feel the rage of anger and spite literally building up in your body? Or, can you choose to smile at the kid and forgive him?
Of course you can! It's a choice. It's your choice. You can't predict, decide or control what life brings your way. But, you can control and decide how you react to life's unexpected obstacles. The control is in your hands.
That was basically what Mitchell was going on and on about.
It was a good talk. It was a talk so good, it got previous US President, Bill Clinton, recommending it. It was inspirational to a certain degree. Mitchell was a good speaker, humourous. He engaged the audience with his presence and he is not boring. At least not to me. However, like I said, it was inspirational only to a certain degree. Just a personal opinion.
What I want to say is, we can all take a page out of Mitchell's life. Shit happens. Life happens. So, do you want to sit there and cry and whine about why shit happens to you? Or do you want to stand up and walk away, walk to a new direction in your life and never ponder about that shit?
The decision is of course, yours.

Am I happy with the government right now?
I would never expect anyone at all to ask me that question mainly because I am not a very political person. There are two things which I usually do not talk about. One, football. Two, politics. (Though I have to admit, recently I have been more conscious politically, after Bersih especially)
So I was especially surprised, shocked even, when I received a call this morning from some random dude (from the government) I suppose, asking whether I had the time to conduct a telephone survey with him. I said, "Why not?" All I have is time.
It was a rather brief survey. I secretly hoped he could ask more questions so that I had the right excuse to stay away from my working desk. Too bad. He mainly focused on the public (yours truly)'s satisfaction towards all the implementations, policies and transformations that the government is doing right now. One question caught my attention. "Adakah transfomasi yang telah dilaksanakan oleh kerajaan telah meningkatkan sokongan rakyat terhadap kerajaan?" Just like all the answers I gave prior to this, I had plenty of things to say in my answers. But my answers were short because I lost my fluency in speaking Malay, and, this is obviously a survey conducted on behalf of the government so I obviously cannot say something too...rebellious, can I?
But all the colourful answers were flowing through my mind when that dude asked me all the let-me-test-you-to-see-if-you-will-be-supporting-BN questions. I almost wanted to just start shooting my answers in English at him.
So, have you received such calls?

Having Astro at home is NO GOOD!
You wanna know why?
Because there are just SO MANY programs to watch! At least, until 6th of May.
Because Astro was voted as the Best Brand (or something like that), Astro is allowing its subscribers to watch all 130 channels for free until 6th of May. SO IMAGINE, ALL THE GREAT MOVIES AND DRAMAS AND REALITY SHOWS THAT YOU GET TO WATCH!
It's a bigger deal for me because my family only subscribes for the most basic package, meaning no Starworld, no FOX, no Animax, no WLT and so on. So I have been on a movie / drama marathon since last Sunday! AND IT'S BAD! Because I supposedly have MANY things to do. Such as looking for a local university to study Finance!
SO, ASTRO IS NO GOOD!
Well of course I'm kidding. So if you have Astro and you hadn't realize the incentives it has been offering, now you know!

Quick update for the weekend!
Hectic Saturday! So unjust! So dirty! So messy! Precisely why I despise politics! Hate trickery and cheats. We are talking about actual people getting trampled, getting shot, getting punched, getting kicked, getting hurt! How are we supposed to feel safe when the authority treats us like that?! And, they are trying to control the press?! I can only show you my middle finger.
Yellow no longer has only one meaning.
Glad to have spent my Sunday with Scarlett Johansson! She is AMAZING. Well, I mean Black Widow. Not exactly Johansson. The show is amazing. Great action! Great humour! Great entertainment! I still don't like Captain America. He's so old school-ed! Totally in love with Black Widow. I think Black Widow and Hawkeye deserved the most credit because they did not have extra-terrestrial abilities like the rest of them yet they were fighting the enemies head on! But still, Black Widow deserved the credit because she's hot and cunning and, well, hot.
Well, that's all. Watch it if you haven't. A must watch!
Yellow no longer has only one meaning.

And after all this..
Chow Hoo Keen, what the hell are you doing?!
*edit*
Every time this happens, I walk away slightly more hurt. It reminds me of all the past failures, all my past failures. I walk away, slightly more hurt. And with more and more unpleasant memories piling up, I find it harder to focus. And, I find myself in a more dire need of a reset button.
But, my conscious is telling me to never give up! The least I can do is, continue what I am doing.

There are great variety of calls on sale on the website. Both new and second hand cars are available at very, very competitive prices. And, there is constant update on the website so no worry is needed on whether there will be no more car sales offer on the website.
There are plenty of BMW models currently on sale. More accurately, there are 208 BMW of any series on sale. The models range from 1 to 7, and include X, M and Z. Basically, everything. So let's check them out in details.
There is very limited offers for BMW 1 Series and BMW 7 Series. Nevertheless, the sales look very promising. If you fancy a brand new BMW 1 Series, you should be happy to know that you can get a brand new one with a very competitive price. In fact, if you are looking for a convertible sedan, you will be happy with what you can find on the website. Not exactly looking for a new car? No problem! You can definitely get a very affordable BMW 3 Series from the list, but, what I can say is, you get the items which is worthy of your price. Like the saying, "You get what you've paid for". With that said, I am sure the cars are in good conditions. Same goes to 5 Series and 6 Series.
Of course, if you are looking for BMW M3, its similar models, BMW X3, its similar models or even Z4, your options are not limited here. However, sad to say that your choices aren't much either. But again, like I said, you should check it out because you might just get your dream car at a price that you would never imagined you could!
If you asked me, I would love to get my hands on one of these sleek looking sedans in my favourite colour, dark blue. More preferably, a convertible as well. The comfort and the luxury, two in one.
So quickly, get one of them for yourselves using this extremely user friendly website now!

The tough gets slightly tougher!
Well. I think I have put it behind me. What did I put behind me? This.
A rejection from MNRB. "With deep regret.....limited allocation....wish you all the best...." And I was depending so much on this one.
Another rejection from NTU. "...application has not been successful..."
Then, I just realized that I am not eligible to apply for Maybank's scholarship. Because I am old. Bummer.
So after an extremely sluggish and lethargic day, I've decided to put them all behind me and continue marching on!
And how I wish I can go hang out with someone right now. Just being around someone, that's all.
Oh by the way, Touch Me by Katharine McPhee (from the new show Smash) is so good! I had it on repeat since afternoon. "Touch me, touch me.......Come on and love me...." Quite erotic lyrics though. Heeee.

Yayasan Khazanah Scholarship - Stage One
It was an assessment stage. There were five papers to be completed within a very, very limited time. They could all be categorized under IQ tests, nevertheless they weren't that simple.
Among the five papers, some were questions about mathematical sequences, some about mathematical reasoning (more famously known as the meaningless form four topic "if....then...."), some tested our logic by requiring us to rearrange the pictures to provide a logical story line (like what the kids at kindergarten would do), another one tested on Venn diagram and one last one tested on recognizing simple shapes out of complex ones.
Apparently there are samples online and I just found out after sitting for the test.
And the test is...quite universal. I shall not define what I mean by that. *wink*
Anyway the test was FUN and EXCITING! It was so challenging! And the time limit didn't exactly make it easy for me! But I really enjoyed the thrill!
And, I am super happy to have known a great friend, Mr Toh. I promised to add him on Facebook but the problem is I CANNOT LOCATE HIS PROFILE!
And, I do not have his number. =.=
HOW CAN I FIND YOU, MR TOH! *bangs wall*
Well, that's pretty much all about it.

Two rejections, One disappointment, Three times the pain
I received TWO rejections in one night.
At the same night, I found out that I am not qualified to apply for Maybank scholarship.
And, I could not find the profile of the new friend I met today.
Three very saddening matters to me.
*sigh*

When the going gets tougher?
I have so much to say. So much to pen down. So many thoughts to be jotted down before they are lost and replaced by other newer opinions and memories. If I had a notepad or Ipad with internet, I may have the luxury to do so. Doing it with paper and pen just doesn't seem too..professional. And writing down your thoughts literally just seems to lack a bit of privacy. That's how I feel anyway.
So many things are happening right now. I feel like I am losing my sense of grip. I feel like I no longer know what is important. As if, I am losing touch from reality. Again, what I am going through right now is like a phase where nothing is certain. Nothing is definite. Anything and everything could just go wrong. I would really love for things to be the way I want them to be, but I can only hope.
I would love to put my thoughts into words right now, but tomorrow is another working day. I guess maybe I can update my thoughts at work tomorrow?
I just hope, the going no longer gets tough. That's all.

Stepping into the Twenties. Big 20th Birthday!
I am gonna get into how I feel about today later. I shall first say what I did! But no, nothing special or extraordinary happened today.
I wanted to begin my day with a cup of Starbucks but I was 15 minutes late to work! So I skipped coffee! (I was also in an urgent need to rush to the washroom when I was on the LRT, ironically) Well on the train I received a couple of very very endearing messages from my friends! Love you all so so much! I was smiling the whole time! As I reached office and began the usual stuff, messages came in once in a while, and they did nothing to stop my widening smile. Luckily there was a cubicle which sort of blocked my colleagues' view. Once again, thank you so much to you who sent me birthday messages! I really really, from the bottom of my heart, appreciate all of your messages!
A very nice colleague treated me to CoolBlog.
| CoolBlog, Hong Kong Milk Tea |
Something like Chatime la. I had Hong Kong Milk Tea. It's not bad! A tad bit, just tiny bit, too sweet. It's still within my acceptable range though. Really love my colleagues! Oh and my boss treated me to Manhattan Fish Market last Thursday. Won't over forget that I am so lucky to be surrounded by such great people!
My mom prepared an extremely HUGE lunch box for me. Her recipe I suppose. *smug* Spaghetti!
| Spaghetti, My Mom's Own Recipe |
With eggs, vegetables, hot dog (it's extremely nice!), meat, carrot stripes. Extremely nice! Love my mom's cooking. Love her lovely lunchbox. But, love her more!
And lunchbox is not lame okay? It's filled with lots of love!
Well that's all that I had during working hours. And Adele's "Rumour Has It" was playing itself in my head all the time, with different versions by Katharine McPhee (from Smash) and Mathai (from The Voice Season 2). So tempted to go on Youtube!
After work, I chose to have dinner with my parents. All of my brothers were busy. So it's only my parents and I. We went to Sakae Sushi at Leisure Mall. I realize that this decision sounds slightly lame. The meal was unexpectedly, and pleasantly, surprising! My mother had Chicken Shiogayaki Don, which was basically chicken with sweet sauce and rice. She liked it a lot. My dad too. But I found it quite similar some common Chinese cuisine. My dad had some Salmon. I think it's Salmon Teriyaki. It's really really nice! Love it a lot! My parents too! It's so flavorful! Not too sweet. And the fish was fresh, nicely grilled. Extremely nice! Would recommend it! And I had a set of sushi meant for 3 pax!
After that, we added a salad, Sakae Salad.
EXTREMELY NICE TOO! It's like Lou Sang. We had to pour the plum dressing on to the dishes and mix them together. I really like this one. This was really surprising! Haha I think I am too easily pleased. Anyway try this if you have the chance!
And everything totaled up to RM70+. At least we really had a good time. And I had a good time ogling checking out stealing glances at an extremely cute infant WHO SMILED AT ME WHEN I SMILED AT HIM! Side note : I really love babies! Oh and I had a good time because the waitress who served us was quite cute. And she was able to explain the dishes to us, AND CONVINCED MY MOM TO CHOOSE THAT CHICKEN DISH, which is, to me, a huge accomplishment! Oh and I asked her whether birthday boys / girls get special treatment in Sakae. Sadly, no! ):
And that's all!
Now about how I feel. I definitely enjoyed my day. I wish to share my happiness with everyone! I know of a friend who is so sad to the extend of tearing. ): I am not sure if you will read this but if you do, DON'T CRY KAY LOL! And I am really really touched to receive calls and messages from all of you. I really am. Every year without fail. Even friends from another country. I was super stunned and surprised and happy to receive your message! Even friends whom I never thought would remember. From friends whom I used to be super close with. From friends whom I had special memories with. Friends who had been with me through thick and thin. Friends who aren't only friends, but family (or daughters) too. All of you, without fail! At the sight of your names on my phone, tonnes of memories came flashing back in my mind. Miss you all. Love you all. You all once, and still do, played an important in my life. And your remembering and messaging me, really means a lot to me. So I want to, for the don't know how many times, sincerely thank you! LOVE YOU ALL!

How Do I Feel Right Now?
Result was out this morning. I was at work. So I did not have the chance to retrieve my result.
But my friends did.
I really hope that most of my friends have great results. I really do.
I am so sad that..a number of my friends are less fortunate. How else can I say it? I don't even know what to say. It hurts my heart so much..to hear from friends who did not get what they wanted.
Whereas for me, I know how I fare. People may say what they think, but I think I give myself a very high aim. And I don't really have a good feeling about it. But I guess I am slowly getting prepared for whatever that is written on that piece of dratted paper.
I guess I just have to engrave these words in my mind. "Life goes on." A friend told me that. The most fearful incident that can occur to someone is if one's life is taken away, is if life no longer goes on for one. When that happens, there will be no returning and there will be no second chances.
So. Life goes on. Remember that.
But my friends did.
I really hope that most of my friends have great results. I really do.

Breakfast at Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie!
I've been to this place once, with a friend's family. And I've heard so many great things about this bakery shop. Finally it is my turn to pay this stone oven bakery a visit!
No photos though. ):
Reached the famous bakery at around 9 and I saw big and small families rushing into the shop! I panicked for a little while because I know the crowd in Levain could be potentially huge during its peak hours! Anyway, RM2 for the jockey. Just a heads up.
After a walk around the bakery to see how nice the place is decorated, we set a place to sit and my dad, bro and I went to shop for breads! Somehow I thought the variety of breads was lesser this time around. But I was just too happy to see Turkey Ham & Eggs! It's super delicious! The egg matches just nicely with the ham and the bread, leaving a satisfactory taste in my mouth. Yum!
The chocolate log bread looked out of the ordinary. I was so intrigued by its texture, I put a piece of it on my tray without realizing it myself! The chocolate tastes great with the bread. Great texture too. Soft. It could be slightly oily to some people but for me it was just fine.
Mashed potato bun seemed ordinary. But I've read that it is very nice so I definitely wouldn't miss the chance to taste it! My mother thought it was normal but I love how soft and sweet the mashed potatoes tasted in my mouth. There was ham inside too. And the ham mixed perfectly with the mashed potatoes and created an great taste which I really liked.
Durian melon bun was quite normal. A bun with durian fillings inside. Could be a tad bit too sweet to certain people I think.
Walnut bread is very nice! I love how great it tasted and it smelt when I put it in my mouth! If you are a fan of walnut, you will definitely love this one!
Crispy walnut bread was slightly less flavorful as compared to walnut bread. But I love how it is shaped! And it's crispy, giving a different texture kind of bread as compared to walnut bread.
Apricot sunrise was just normal. Apricot tasted slightly sour.
Some cheese croissant (which name I forgot) was decent too. Nothing to shout about. Not too much taste of cheese though it was named something cheese croissant.
Some other famous delicacies in Levain which we did not try are its macaroons! They looked so colorful! It's like a children's world at that counter! I tasted once the last time, I think it was chocolate, and it was too sweet for me. But I bet many people love it!
I would order Spaghetti, aglio olio style, if it was lunch time. I heard that it's very nice. Same goes to its cakes.
Overall, the breads were above the average. I heard that it's comparable to The Loaf. The prices were slightly too high for us so we wouldn't be back anytime soon, I suppose. It's mainly self-service but the service at the counter was slightly not too friendly. It wouldn't hurt a little if the cashiers smiled when they looked at their customers for just that ONE time. But guess it would, for them.
And, Levain should probably hire people who aren't afraid to communicate. Either English or Malay, I don't care, as long as you can respond to me! My dad was asking this lady some questions about their wholewheat bread and she could barely utter two words.
But I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, you, that is, because the bread is really good!

Anger.
It is amazingly shocking how anger be so frighteningly contagious. I have just watched a video, which I will post here in a while, of two women fighting.
Literally, fighting.
Well, it is more like a girl getting bullied by another one. There might be some stories behind this whole scene. I guessed, the bully's boyfriend dumped her for the bullied.
Or something like that.
I couldn't pay attention to what the bully was screaming and shouting about because I was too stunned at what she doing to the bullied! I was..shuddered! I couldn't believe she could do that to the bullied, and had this recorded by someone, and had no one around them helping the bullied at all!
I don't understand!
If we isolate the whole reasoning behind this incident and focus only ON this fight itself, shouldn't someone at least help the bullied out before she gets hurt? She was slapped, smacked, stepped on, hurled around. Her hair was pulled at like a bad doll getting mistreated by a baby. She was kicked, pushed, punched.
The words that came out from the bully's mouth was still manageable for me (though still vulgar). But what she did, was totally unacceptable for me.
Am I the one who has not seen enough real situations out there? Am I the one who is making a big deal out of something commonly taken place at our society?
If I am, there is clearly something wrong with this society. There is NOTHING common about bully. For whatever fucked up reason, bully is a no! Verbal bully is bad enough, let alone physical bully.
*edit*
Actually when I scrolled up and see what I wrote for my starting line, I realised that I have strayed from my original point.
What I wanted to say was, when people watch this video, people would naturally get SUPER angry at the bully. If someone righteous were to be present at the scene, what would that someone do? Separate both of them apart? Make them calm down? Drive the bullied away from the bully?
For me, while I was watching the video, I felt like I should really give the bully a huge heavy punch to the point of making her faint! I felt like she should be hit with a hammer or something!
But think again. Like I said earlier, anger is so contagious. As I watched the video, I felt so so angry, I felt like channeling my anger into, probably, even worse violence. And it may lead to more and more violence!
It will never end! Like a chain reaction!
Then, (here comes my main point) what should one do so that the anger does not take control of oneself?
I was thinking, if I were at the scene, I would probably act out unreasonably and harshly without thinking it through. I would probably be controlled by my anger and have acted regretfully.
Would there be a chance for me to suppress my anger and not let it control my actions?
I think that is a very good question for everyone.
I Want To Earn Money!
Private Tutor for A Level, SPM, PMR
Do you need tutoring? Do you know someone who might need tutoring? School teacher no good? Tuition teacher not so good too?
Why don't you try ME? Probably I can help!
I just recently finished my A Levels finals! I am a Math, Further Math, Chemistry and Physics student. I was a pure science stream SPM student who got 11A+ and 1A- for my Chinese subject. I am confident with my Mathematics, but you can still ask me Chemistry and Physics questions. For SPM level, I should be able to handle Bio too. I might need to make some reference, but I promise I would do my best!
How much do I charge? I have been doing survey of one-to-one tutoring and I am putting my price at RM50 per hour for A Level and RM40 per hour.
DON'T EXIT YET. Read on to see why you should consider my teaching skills!
I consider myself a decent student. You can see that from my result. I will try my best to explain whatever theories that you do not understand, FROM A STUDENT'S POINT OF VIEW! I understand that you might face this problem where you do not understand what your teacher says because your teachers seem to always complicate things. SO, why not try understanding the topics from a fellow student's point of view, right?
I am definitely dedicated! If, and only if, there is a question which you ask which I don't know, I would DEFINITELY check my references and get back to you! That is guaranteed!
Also, about my classes, you would not have to worry about fixed schedule or fixed subject per class. Time is negotiable. Place is negotiable. And during the class, you can ask ANYTHING from ANY SUBJECT. That way, you can learn faster. I am there to help you understand what you do not understand in the first place. But one thing I prefer is, to have the classes in places like McD or more public places for convenience's sake. But this is negotiable. Oh and I stay in Cheras!
Since time and place is negotiable, it means, you only have to pay whenever you have class! You don't have to pay monthly or within a fixed time. Pay per tutor, how does that sound? :D
Email me at kennychowhookeen@hotmail.com or leave a comment if you are interested!
Ps : I would really like to have serious and dedicated students. (:
Typing Job
Other than that, I am also looking for typing job that allows employee to work from home! Do you know of any jobs that you can introduce to me? Are there jobs like, making soft copy of story books or reference books or novels? Like, you just type the contents of a book into Microsoft Word. Are there such jobs? I would really want to do things like this, from home!Though it sounds lazy and all. If you do know, please introduce to me!

I would really want to do things like this, from home!

Post Exam Days
So what have I been up to?
I finally used my RM200 book voucher. Bought a few exercise books for my brother, bought a Chinese health-related book for my father and bought another three self-help books for myself. Used the vouchers at Popular (because my brother is a member, it's so much cheaper buying books there!) and Borders (because I WANT THE STARBUCKS VOUCHER!). And I am now a member of Borders. I silently promised myself that I would spend RM50 to RM100 to buy books from Borders if and when I finally have an income. Borders has so many good books that I want to buy! Of course not as many as Kinokuniya. But whenever I go to Kino, I always fail to find good books. Though Popular or Borders are smaller, I can focus better on the books I prefer. But Popular always has limited variety so I'll stick to Borders for the moment.
I am reading the first book that I bought : Robert Schuller's Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do! It is a great book! It is not as great as I thought when I was browsing through it. Nevertheless, it is definitely an exceptional book to many people! It literally gives you a different perspective about life - your own life. I have not finished the book, almost have, but I have much to say about it already. It has already made me wondered how differently I could have led my life had I read what Robert had to say EARLIER (like, years earlier!). But there is one thing about the book and its contents that caught me by surprise (due to my own ignorance and naiveness) and it is the way the author relates all his principles and all his opinions based on the Bible. That totally caught me by surprise. Of course, it is because I didn't see the his biography - he is a pastor, and a pretty famous one! I would really recommend this book to many people! If you are a Christian, you should have no problem understanding Robert's messages. In fact, you should be able to appreciate more. To the non-Christians, this is still a good book because essentially the message that Robert is trying to convey to his readers, is so so important and useful and not taught of by many. Believe me when I say that his messages are very useful!
I also spotted another very interesting book, The Fine Art of Small Talk by Debra Fine. But I was debating with myself FOR ONE WHOLE HOUR (perhaps more!) on whether I should buy it, due to the budget limit! In the end I didn't buy it! I wish I had! But I found an online version of the same topic presented by Debra Fine. I think she gives motivational talks about such topics to many people. And one of her presentations was recorded and I downloaded it! It is very useful! Love it! Would listen to it again soon!
I have another two books which I still haven't touched. Would die to get them started as soon as I finish Robert Schuller's!
Other than these books, I have been diligently looking for a temporary job. Been to an interview. Looking forward to another one on Tuesday! I hope I can do well! I really really love that job! I hope it turns out to be as good as it sounds! And also I hope to do other part time jobs during the weekend, for example some part time tutoring or some typing jobs which do not require employees to work onsite. I think I should make another post and about it after this. Hehe.
I NEED TO EARN MORE MONEY, so that I have some extra to spend when I continue my studies at wherever! Money, come to me!

KL Room For Rent
Many of you may or may not have heard the name iBilik before today, but you have definitely, knowingly or unknowingly, seen this name when you're on the road. Don't believe me? Look at this.
Doesn't it look familiar? The name iBilik can be seen on taxis and cabs nationwide in Malaysia. But do you know what it is about? Let me tell you how useful this website can be to you!
iBilik, previously known as CariBilik, has Malaysia's LARGEST room database! It is the number one website for people to promote their house / room for let / rent / sale. It is also the top website for people who look for a homestay, a short term or a long term place to stay in Malaysia. There are over 100,000 listings published on that website, which includes places like Ampang, MidValley, Bukit Bintang, Damansara, Bangsar, Malacca, Port Dickson, Cameron Highlands, Penang Island and more! Best of all, it's totally free to post at this website!
What I like about this website is, it is very simple and organised. Straight to the point. On the homepage itself, there is a list of more common places, otherwise called hot locations, where people might be interested in looking for a place to stay in. Hence you can begin searching for a room / house by just clicking the name of an area of your interest. You can also narrow down your choices by deciding whether you want a long term rent or a short term one. Do take note that a short term rental also means a homestay or an accommodation for a vacation. Hence if you are looking for cheap, and I mean really cheap, apartment / hotel / room to stay in places like Port Dickson, Brinchang Hill, Penang and so on, this website can definitely serve its usefulness to you.
While searching for rental rooms, you have the liberty to choose if you want to stay with a male, or female, of so-and-so race, or so-and-so religion. The preference is totally up to you. There are even rooms which welcome expatriates! This freedom of choice is definitely appreciated by many as it would save the time and hassle, for renters or tenants, to reject the people whom they are not so keen to share an accommodation with.
Another aspect which I really like about this website is, the variety of rentals listed under the category "Short Term Rentals". You can sort the list by the price of rental or the most popularly rented accommodation. There are many photos of the accommodation shot from various angle, which would give a clearer and better picture to potential tenants about the facilities and the condition of the room. The services that an accommodation offers are also depicted clearly by the website so that tenants are aware of the amenities that they have access to.
Every piece of information that you need can definitely be obtained from that website, from its exact location shown on google map to its availability. You can directly book a room from the website too! If you are uncertain or if you are not convinced with the descriptions stated regarding the accommodations, fear not, because commonly, there are reviews which could boost your confidence about the accommodation. Another aspect to take note is, when there are negative reviews regarding a room, the person in charged takes note of the reviews, makes the necessary changes and gets back to the review, confirming that changes have been made and actions have been taken regarding the complaints in the review. Such efficacy is definitely appreciated by many tenants.
This website is definitely a highly efficient website and I would recommend it to many if such services is required. And guess what, its service is not only limited to the borders of Malaysia. This website can also be used to search for rentals in Singapore, Indonesia and Philippines! How convenient!

Another great place to dine in PD
It's here! Google it up and you can locate this place!
This place is famous for this particular big bun!
Inside the bun is one of the most delicious curry chicken I have ever had!
The worker preparing the bun for customers. He first sweeps a layer of butter on the bun, then cuts it open using a scissors. The bun will then open beautifully like a blossoming flower, showing its delicious content. He cuts open the packet of curry chicken and the bun is ready to be served.
Look at the rows of these big buns. Don't you find them irresistible?! According to the worker, these buns are self-made. Fresh from oven. And they can sell a few hundreds of these on a day with high demand!
However, it is slightly too pricey for me. RM28 per bun. The curry is definitely one of the best. But for RM28, I am not too sure I'll be back often. But, it is definitely worth a try!
That's all for the makan trip I had in PD! Really glad to have found these places. And especially glad to have found Blue Lagoon! Will definitely be back if given the chance!
Great place to dine in PD!
After doing some research, I found a great place to eat in PD. And my research did not fail me! So I am here to share!
Weng Yin Seafood Village. Very easy to be located. Parking space available.Open for lunch and dinner. Cheap and most importantly, NICE!
We went there for both LUNCH and DINNER on our second day in PD!
For lunch, we had...
Weng Yin Seafood Village. Very easy to be located. Parking space available.Open for lunch and dinner. Cheap and most importantly, NICE!
We went there for both LUNCH and DINNER on our second day in PD!
For lunch, we had...
Fried Calamari. RM14. It is to die for! It's crispy and tasty! It is definitely worthy of a try, and many more tries after that. However I have to say the best fried calamari is one which I had many years ago in Sekinchan. But I have already forgotten where it was. ):
Claypot Yee Mee. RM10. You can see from this picture that there are many ingredients. It is very fresh. It tastes decent. Nothing to shout for, in my opinion.
Potato Leaves cooked with Belacan. RM8. The potato leaves are planted by the owner, making the dish healthier. I literally could taste the greenness of the vegetable.
We also ordered another noodle called Mamak Mee. As it was the first dish to arrive, and we were so hungry, we finished it before I had a chance to take a picture of it. It's very nice! Worthy of a try!
For dinner, we went back to the same place for more great food! As the place is famous for its Bamboo Crab and Self-made Tau Fu, we immediately ordered those. But those two dishes were unavailable on that day! I was so upset! Luckily the restaurant is famous for other dishes as well!
Gam Heong Lala. RM18. Apparently there is two ways of preparing Gam Heong Lala, and this is the wet style. This tastes slightly sweet, and less spicy, which is surprisingly good. I like it. I would recommend this to people who can't take spicy food.
Butter Crab. RM32. Absolutely fantastic! A to-die-for! Highly recommended! We only ordered two crabs (as I think I am the only crab lover in the family). The butter doesn't taste too butter-y, which could taste fattening. It's just nice! The only bad thing is that the size of the crabs is a bit too small. ): But the taste is awesome!
Gong Bo Prawn. Highly recommended too! I love the taste of it. And it goes along with rice very well! Very nice!
Black Beer Chicken Meat. RM16. Another great one! Highly recommended! I've never tried this at another restaurant before but I like the taste of this one. However, I couldn't really taste the taste of beer. Probably it's because I've never had one. Nevertheless, a must try!
Local Tau Fu with minced Chicken Meat. RM8. As they did not prepare their famous tau fu dish, we could only order another type. It's decent. A bit too salty to my parents' liking. But I found it okay.
Oyster Omelet. RM9. Normal. Too much egg, too little oyster. I've had better ones in Sekinchan.
Vegetable. Yao Mak. RM8. Simple and nice. A nice tone down from all the other heavy dishes.
Overall, the meal was great! The place was okay. Cleanliness is fine. Friendly staff. Relatively cheap meal. The only disappointment was that there was no bamboo crab! ): But I would definitely head back for the good food again!
