Happy New Year - 2013

I didn't post anything for the whole of December (and almost the whole of November too!). I'm officially feeling guilty!

To begin this, I want to wish everyone (or anyone) who is reading, Happy New Year! May 2013 be the year free from fear, free from doubt, free from anxiety; May 2013 be the year where happiness prevails and success materializes!

Happy New Year, all!

November has arrived.

Time passes too soon. I still remember seeing facebook posts about waking people up when September ends but now even October has ended.

In the past month, I have changed my phone (I am officially a smart phone user). I have become more adapted to my life in Hong Kong. And I feel optimistic.

I really wanna write more but blogging with Iphone is not easy. So I shall leave it till when I get back to laptop!

Another Beautiful Sunday

After a long long time, finally I get to witness a beautiful Sunday morning again. There is less haze and the sky is clearer. This is not a typical view in Hong Kong because as many people know, Hong Kong has one of the most serious air pollution issues. Seeing a nice view, especially from my room, really lifted my mood! Unfortunately I still don't have my phone to take a nice picture, else I would have done so and uploaded for you to see, the beautiful view. And I am too lazy to take my camera to take this beautiful picture, connect to my laptop, transfer photo and upload it for you; it's just too troublesome of a process for me! :P But rest assured, once I get my phone, I will make FULL use of it!

University life is getting better! It's the mid term period. So naturally I should be studying my ass off. I am. I hit the library quite often. And I really am resisting the urge to go jogging / swimming every time. I have set a new schedule: to study in the morning and in the afternoon, while at night, I want to enjoy my time by reading news, going jogging, swimming or chatting with friends. This is my new schedule which I shall put into use once mid term ends (next Thursday)! For now, I will have to really focus on studying! Especially when I have 3 more tests to sit for (Finished the test for Introduction to Economic yesterday, yay)!

Wait, I just said university life is getting better and I talked about mid term, how ironic!

It's getting better because I have set a new schedule which I intend to stick by strictly. I also recently talked to a friend (a junior, really) and I realized that different people have different goals and different aims they wish to obtain from their university lives. Naturally, some may be better and more challenging than others; and in the end, they will reap more rewards of course. But those kind of goals not necessarily suit everyone. So the important thing to do is, to search for your own university aim/goal and stick by it at all times! Don't always follow what your friends do because your friends' interests aren't necessarily yours. So don't waste your university life, do what you want and like!

Since then, I have been thinking what my aims and goals are. I have to admit, mine aren't as noble as everyone else's. I just want to graduate peacefully, get a good grade, get invaluable experience, and enjoy my life. Oh, and definitely, follow my interests (though I really have yet to decide what mine really are). That's why I feel less pressured when I see my peers are working so diligently towards their goal (which used to make me feel left out etc). I know better now. So I feel better.

I think most importantly, I have to keep improving myself. And enjoy life.

Cheers.

University life is fun?

One thing is for sure. The person who said that university life is leisure and fun should be killed right now.

University life is not at all leisurely! I am at the end of the fourth week of my studies, and I feel suffocated already! I am so behind my syllabus for economics; mathematics which used to be my strong point is no longer my strong point; learning a new language should be fun but it's not when I have other pressure and tension to take care of; all my worries and dilemmas won't be eased away when the people around me seem to be having the time of their life.

I guess there is no fun time for me. Not so much anyway. And I definitely do not like the feeling of not knowing what I am learning. I used to be so in control of my studies and my knowledge. But now, due to lack of resources (no textbook!), new lecture style (university style!), and external factors, I guess I really am falling behind.

And, I shall not let myself fall anymore!

Must fucking buck up!

Happy Mid Autumn Festival!

First Mid Autumn Festival in Hong Kong. Basically I still have a mixed feeling. I have not completely been emotionally detached from my family, I suppose. On such a meaningful and important event, I especially miss my parents and my brothers and the familiar place I was once so used to. More so when I faced a number of obstacles here in Hong Kong, where I would have to stand up for myself (sometimes with help from my friends). Everything is really different, more so for me.

I bought a Canon printer last Friday. I tried to set it up yesterday, but apparently there is an error to the printer and it left me frustrated. I have to bring it all the way back to the shop today to get it fixed.

I went to a Malaysian gathering slash Mid Autumn Festival Celebration last night. I thought I would thoroughly enjoy it, but quite to the contrary. It was still nice though. There were many, many great seniors!

And in the midst of all the chaos in my mind, there is this loudly deafening feeling which has never left my mind since the very beginning, loneliness.

I think I just miss my parents, my brothers and my friends too much, to the extent of not being able to let it go, yet.

I know what I should do. I should stay optimistic, have an open mind, embrace all the possibilities with a bright smile and stay confident.

But, is it really easy to do that? Is it easy to switch my mindset, which is so used to and fixed to my bygones, to accustom to what's around me now?
